President & CEO

Shawn Leslie, BA, CLU

Shawn Leslie has over 35 years of experience in the employee benefits Industry, working initially with a major group insurance and group retirement plan provider for 12 years (final position was Senior Employee Benefits Consultant). Mr. Leslie worked in western Canada prior to moving to Toronto in 1982 and has held many senior positions in the employee benefit field with the last 25 years as President and CEO of The Leslie Group Limited whose primary focus is on group insurance and group retirement plans.

Mr. Leslie founded The Leslie Group Limited in 1992 with an objective of increasing value for Canadian corporations in the employee benefits area. He has a B.A. from the University of Manitoba and a CLU. The Leslie Group commenced operations on May 1, 1992; and has grown steadily to its current size assisting over 500 corporations with their employee benefits plans focusing on offering value to our clients.


Vice President, Consulting

Rob Campbell

Mr. Campbell has over 33 years of experience in group benefits working with two major group insurance and group retirement plan providers for 18 years (final position was Vice President, Canadian Group & Retirement Sales). Mr. Campbell has also worked in Western Canada and has held many senior sales and marketing positions in the employee benefit field and since June 2000 has served as Vice President Consulting of The Leslie Group Limited with a focus on group insurance and group retirement plans.

Mr. Campbell has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Sports Administration) from Laurentian University and a CLU designation.

Senior Employee Benefits Consultant

Aneesa Toor

Ms. Toor has over 11 years of progressive experience in group benefits working with a major insurance carrier for four years and the last seven years in a consulting capacity. Her experience with an insurer was predominantly in the areas of marketing, underwriting, and client management. In a consulting capacity, Ms. Toor has used her knowledge of the inner workings of the insurance carrier’s processes in order to negotiate and make recommendations in the best interest of The Leslie Group clients and with a focus on group insurance and group retirement plans.

Ms. Toor has an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from the Wilfrid Laurier University and has earned her Group Benefits Associate designation certifying her as a group benefits professional.


Senior Employee Benefits Consultant

Kathryn Zufelt

Ms. Zufelt has over 29 years of progressive experience working in group benefits with two insurance carriers and for the last 19 plus years, in a consulting capacity. Her experience with an insurer in the areas of service / claims management and in the underwriting of benefits plans, coupled with her one on one work as an advocate for employers, has helped her to understand the unique requirements of each client as well as the nuances of negotiating the benefits system to maximize the outcome for clients.

Her focus is solely in providing consulting services to a small group of larger clients and not in client acquisition. This affords her the time to be proactive in analyzing plan data and making recommendations around plan design and funding, participating in union negotiations where required, quarterly plan reviews, communication of legislative updates and any other value added services that are appropriate for a given client.

She has an Honours B.A. in French and Biology from the University of Toronto.


Manager Group Retirement, Group Retirement Consultant

Jay Hopkins

Mr. Hopkins has over 7 years of experience in the group retirement industry and joined the Leslie Group in November of 2015. Mr. Hopkins most recent experience was as an Associate Client Manager and Client Relations specialist with a consulting firm and has experience with group retirement clients ranging from 100 to over 100,000 members.

Mr. Hopkins has an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Toronto.


Senior Employee Benefits Consultant

Matthieu Bedard

Mr. Bedard has over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, nine of which are in the group benefits industry, having worked with a major insurance carrier for two years and as an employee benefits advisor for a large fortune 500 company. He joined The Leslie Group in early 2012 as an Employee Benefit Consultant. His experience with an insurer was predominantly in the areas of marketing, underwriting, and client management. In his role as an advisor, Mr. Bedard used his technical knowledge of the insurance carrier models to acquire new business and manage an existing group of clients.

Mr. Bedard is an MBA graduate from The University of Liverpool and is bilingual (fluent in French). Currently Mr. Bedard is a licensed insurance advisor, and is working towards industry designations, all of which assist in differentiating him as a group benefits professional.


Group Retirement Consultant

Matt Jebb

Mr. Jebb has over 4 years of experience in the group retirement industry and joined the Leslie Group in February of 2017 as a Group Retirement Consultant. Mr. Jebb’s most recent experience was a Senior Analyst with a consulting firm and has experience with group retirement clients ranging from 100 to 5,000 members.

Mr. Jebb has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Maine.

Sean Goodale

Mr. Goodale has a wealth of experience in the group benefits industry specializing in client management, sales and marketing as well as underwriting for small to mid-sized companies. Working in progressive roles for two major insurance carriers for 6 years and as a consultant with The Leslie Group for over 10 years, Mr. Goodale possesses the knowledge and skill set to effectively manage benefit plans for clients of The Leslie Group as well as negotiate with the group benefits providers to achieve the client’s requirements. With a strong customer focused approach to group benefits, Mr. Goodale’s passion is to provide first-rate consulting services with sound advice and comprehensive recommendations to enhance the value clients receive.


Employee Benefits Consultant

Tanzim Hassan

Mr. Hassan has over 12 years of experience in the insurance industry, working in progressive roles for two major insurance carriers. He recently joined The Leslie Group in 2016 in an employee benefits consulting role and brings with him a wealth of knowledge in managing group benefits for small to mid-size companies. He specializes in negotiating with group benefit carriers to provide clients of The Leslie Group the best value for their plan possible. With his previous account management and plan implementation experience, Mr. Hassan is also able to navigate the intricacies of the various insurance carrier’s offerings and translate them to easy to understand terms for clients.

Mr. Hassan is an MBA graduate from York University’s School of Business and adds solid financial experience to the consulting role.

Manager Business Development, Employee Benefits Consulting

Adam Morton

Adam joins The Leslie Group with over a decade of Experience in B2B Sales and Business Development. Coming from his latest background in Capital Markets, he worked with a software company who assisted publicly traded companies with their shareholder engagement and corporate governance solutions. Leading the organizational charge in Business Development and through a company acquisition.

Formerly, Adam worked under the Jim Pattison Group $9.1-billion-dollar umbrella, he worked for the Pattison Sign Group for over 7 years.

Completing his education in the State of Ohio at Wright State University, he was also a member of the Men’s baseball team receiving an athletic scholarship. He brings a very unique skillset that will assist in the strategic growth planning for the Leslie Group moving forward.


Business Development, Employee Benefits Consulting

Adam Watson-Smyth

Adam is an intuitive leader that brings more than 15 years of experience to his Business Development role with The Leslie Group Limited. With a diverse background in account management, sales, operations and new product launches, his long-term strategic approach and results oriented personality is demonstrated in the success he has achieved in his previous roles with Valeant Pharmaceuticals (formerly Biovail Phrama), Ondine Biomedical, Ferring, and TD Bank.

Adam's primary focus is to build awareness about The Leslie Group Limited’s unique capabilities and industry leading service model among prospective clients, and to develop and maintain relationships with current and past clients.

Adam graduated from the University of Western Ontario with distinction, obtaining an Honours Bachelor of Science degree.


Business Development, Employee Benefits Consulting

Robin Leslie

Mr. Leslie joined The Leslie Group in 2013 as an employee benefit consultant. He has over 28 years of sales and account management experience, with a strong focus on client acquisition and business management.

Mr. Leslie has a diploma in Business Administration, with a major in Marketing from Red River College. Currently Mr. Leslie is a licensed insurance advisor, and is working towards industry designations, which will assist in differentiating him as a group benefits professional.

Senior Account Manager, Team Leader, Client Service & Administration

Josie Guarraci

Ms. Guarraci has over 15 years of experience in the group insurance industry and prior, an additional 4 years working in the Dental field where she worked as a Dental assistant. Having worked with 2 major insurance carriers in the claims payment department and as a Team Leader in the call centre, coupled with the hands on experience in the Dental field has allowed her understand the needs of clients and to seek proactive solutions in a time effective manner.

Ms. Guarraci is an enthusiastic and highly organized member of our team. She is responsible for the management, training and development of our entire client service team and is personally assigned to oversee our larger clients, with a senior customer service representative assigned to assist in day to day activities.

In her account management role, she acts as the liaison between your human resources department and the benefits carriers. In this capacity, she will assist in the resolution of claims and administrative concerns, and effectively educate both parties on the particular needs of the other. She will also coordinate employee booklets and contracts amendments as required.


Account Manager

Charlene Beckett

Ms. Beckett has over 20 years of experience in the Human Resources and benefits role, with 11 years working at one of Canada’s largest and most respected medical clinics prior to her joining the Leslie Group in 2012. Over the course of her career she has gained valuable experience in Human Resources initiatives, employee relations, administering group and pension benefits, and has strong interpersonal and communication skills.

In Ms. Beckett’s account manager role, she acts as a liaison between your human resources department and the benefit carriers. In this capacity, she will assist in the resolution of claims and administrative concerns, and will effectively educate both parties on the particular needs of the other. She will also coordinate employee booklets and contracts amendments as required.


Account Manager

Clara Ho

Ms. Ho has over 20 years of customer service experience with the last 10 years in the insurance industry. Her call centre experience allows her to understand the needs of clients and to see the effectiveness of proactive customer service approach.

As your service representative, Ms. Ho acts as the liaison between your human resources department and the benefits carriers. In this capacity, she will assist in the resolution of claims and administrative concerns, and effectively educate both parties on the particular needs of the other. She will also coordinate employee booklets and contracts amendments as required.

Corinna Hintzen

Ms. Hintzen has over 18 years experience in the group insurance industry and has worked with 2 major insurance carriers predominately in a group insurance sales office environment prior to her current role with The Leslie Group for the past 9 years. Ms. Hintzen's senior role as a service representative assists the needs of diverse clients from corporate to national sized clients. Ms. Hintzen is a highly motivated and energetic member of our team and thrives on service excellence understanding the needs of clients.

In Ms. Hintzen's senior service representative role, she acts as a liaison between you human resources department and the benefits carriers. In this capacity, she will assist in the resolution of claims and administrative concerns, and effectively educate both parties on the particular needs of the other. She will also coordinate employee booklets and contracts amendments as required.


Account Manager

Gem Dahari

Ms. Dahari has over 25 years experience in the group insurance industry having worked with major insurance carriers predominantly in group administration and most recently on the employer side as Human Resources Coordinator administering the group and pension benefits. She completed her Group Benefits Associate designation in 2004. Gem is committed to understanding our clients' needs and providing excellent customer service.

In Ms. Dahari’s senior service representative role, she acts as a liaison between you human resources department and the benefits carriers. In this capacity, she will assist in the resolution of claims and administrative concerns, and effectively educate both parties on the particular needs of the other. She will also coordinate employee booklets and contracts amendments as required.


Client Service Representative

Jennie Reilly

Ms. Reilly joined The Leslie Group in June of 2017 as a Client Service Representative within the group retirement team. Ms. Reilly has a strong background in client servicing with 5 years of experience in group retirement.

As a service representative, Ms. Reilly acts as the liaison between your plan administrator and the benefits carriers. In this capacity, she will assist with coordinating employee education, administrative inquiries, and amendments as required. Her goal is to understand your needs, show value, and exceed expectations.


Client Service Representative

Kathy-Ann Rattan

For most of her career Kathy-Ann Rattan has been employed in the Insurance Industry. Over the past 15 years, she worked with several major insurance carriers, including Great-West Life, Manulife Financial and Sun Life, in a variety of roles including Claims Adjudicator and Senior Client Service Representative.

Over the course of her career, Kathy-Ann has gained valuable professional experience in group dynamics, planning, effective team management, communications and analytical skills. She is a highly motivated, team oriented, dedicated and dependable member of the team. As your service representative, Ms. Rattan acts as the liaison between your human resources department and the benefits carriers. In this capacity, she will assist in the resolution of claims and administrative concerns, and effectively educate both parties on the particular needs of the other. She will also coordinate employee booklets and contracts amendments as required.


Senior Client Service Representative

Sinead Edmunds (Collins)

Ms. Edmunds has over 20 years of work experience in the group insurance industry, with her last 14 years working with The Leslie Group. Prior to joining The Leslie Group, she worked with a major insurance carrier in the claims payment department as a claims examiner and later in the call centre. This experience has allowed her understand the needs of clients and to seek proactive solutions in a time effective manner.

As a service representative, Ms. Collins acts as the liaison between your human resources department and the benefits carriers. In this capacity, she will assist in the resolution of claims and administrative concerns, and effectively educate both parties on the particular needs of the other. She will also coordinate employee booklets and contracts amendments as required. Her sole focus with The Leslie Group is to consistently provide clients with proactive industry leading customer service, and timely, accurate solutions to their daily inquiries.

Senior Marketing Coordinator

Claire Blondin

Ms. Blondin has over 27 years of progressive experience in group benefits working with a large insurance carrier and for the last 17 years in her current role at The Leslie Group. Her experience with an insurer was in the underwriting of benefits plans.

As part of her role, she works predominantly in the areas of marketing, renewals, plan design review, claims experience reporting, as well as assisting consultants with client management. She has an Honours B.A. in Economics and Geography from the University of Toronto.


Marketing Coordinator

Jessica Barber

Ms. Barber has over 8 years of experience in the insurance industry working at a large insurance carrier; she began her career with The Leslie Group Limited in July of 2016. Prior to insurance, she worked in the Hospitality industry working as a Front Desk Agent and Guest Services Attendant at a conference centre. During this time she learned how to work independently and within a team environment, which has helped her in each role she has been in thereafter.

In her role as a Marketing Coordinator, she works predominantly in the areas of marketing, renewals, plan design review, claims experience reporting, as well as assisting consultants with client management.


Senior Marketing Coordinator/Client Service Representative

Meghan McCrone

Ms. McCrone has over 5 years of experience in the group insurance industry working with The Leslie Group. As part of her role, she works predominantly in the areas of marketing, renewals, plan design review, claims experience reporting, as well as assisting consultants with client management.

As a Client Service Representative, Ms. McCrone acts as the liaison between your human resources department and the benefits carriers. In this capacity, she will assist in the resolution of claims and administrative concerns, and effectively educate both parties on the particular needs of the other. She will also coordinate employee booklets and contracts amendments as required. Her sole focus with The Leslie Group is to consistently provide clients with proactive industry leading customer service, and timely, accurate solutions to their daily inquiries. She has an Honours Bachelor of Arts (English) from York University.

Financial Controller, Compliance Officer

Chris Goodale

Mr. Goodale joined The Leslie Group Limited in February of 2015 where he left the Stock Transfer Industry. He has over 10 years of experience in the Finance and Accounting industry and also has been appointed Compliance Officer of The Leslie Group Limited.

Mr. Goodale has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Ryerson University and an Advanced Diploma (Accounting) from George Brown College.
